About Author Growth
Built for authors who want their books to be read.
Author Growth is an author marketing and reader growth consultancy founded by Kendra. We help authors turn good books into discoverable books, and promising manuscripts into ready ones.

Too many good books go unread.
The writing is there. What’s missing is a clear path to the readers who would love it.
Publishers concentrate on distribution and the book trade. Independent authors carry every decision themselves. In both cases, the reader-facing work often lands on the author, usually without the time, research or outside view it needs.
The usual answer is more activity: more posts, more ads, more promotions. It rarely works, because the problem is seldom effort. It’s direction.
Author Growth was founded to bring the kind of thinking usually reserved for much larger campaigns to individual authors: research into real readers, clear positioning, and practical marketing that fits a writing life.
Meet Kendra.
Kendra founded Author Growth to give authors a strategic partner who reads the book first and thinks about readers before tactics.
Every engagement starts with the book itself: what it is, who it’s for and what it deserves. From there, the work is careful and practical. Research into the readers most likely to care, a clear promise to those readers, and a path between the two that an author can sustain.
Hello there! I’m a strong professional storyteller with a passion for crafting narratives that engage and educate both children and adults. I am a versatile author, writer and editor and am just as comfortable writing about frogs as I am about professional growth. I’ve worked for multiple children’s book publishers, including World Book, Inc. (yes, the encyclopedia that you may have read at school) and specialize in transforming complex concepts into digestible, captivating stories.
I’m looking forward to helping you turn your creative text into your dream book. I work collaboratively with authors at any point in the publication process, from brainstorming concepts, to line editing, to finishing touches. Wherever you are in your written draft, we will partner together to express your unique point of view while differentiating your book from others in the marketplace. With a little back and forth and plenty of positive encouragement, we can make your vision come to life!

It was wonderful working with Kendra. She was very clear on the process and very thorough in her editing. She made other valuable suggestions that really helped.
Kendra was a joy to work with in so many ways! As a first-time author, I had some concerns and trepidations. She helped me so much in navigating the challenges and offered so much expertise.
I was very happy to work with Kendra. She is so amazing. I couldn’t ask for a better person to help me edit my very first book. I am so thankful and grateful to have worked with her.
Five ideas behind every piece of work.
Every book has readers.
The work is finding them, and making it easy for them to recognise the book as theirs.
Research beats guesswork.
What readers actually search for, browse and say about the books they love is more useful than any trend.
The first seconds deserve care.
Readers decide quickly. A title, a cover and the opening lines of a description carry more weight than most authors realise.
Sustainable beats loud.
A plan you can keep up for years will reach more readers than a burst of activity you can’t repeat.
Authors should own their audience.
Your reader relationships belong to you, not to a platform, an algorithm or an agency.
A partner, not a promotion service.
- A strategic partner for one book, or a body of work
- Research-led, with recommendations you can trace back to readers
- Honest about what’s realistic, and what isn’t
- Focused on long-term readership
- Here before publication as well as after
- A mass promotion or email-blast service
- A guarantee of bestseller status, rankings or sales
- A posting schedule for its own sake
- A one-size package applied to every book
- A buyer of reviews, followers or lists
The idea at the centre
The goal isn’t simply to promote a book. It’s to build the path between the book and the readers who are most likely to care about it.
Your book deserves to be ready, discoverable and read.
